Our mission at the Richmond Youth Football and Cheer Program is to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and fun environment where young athletes can learn, grow, and excel in football and cheerleading. We aim to instill the values of teamwork, respect, discipline, and sportsmanship while fostering a love for their sport.

Field Locations

FOOTBALL PROGRAMS

Flag Division

A non-contact version of traditional football, designed to introduce your child to the sport of football. Available for ages 5-6

Freshman Division

The first level of traditional tackle football, the Freshman Division emphasizes strategy, and teamwork while introducing the physical aspects of the sport. Available to ages 7-8

Junior Varsity Division

This division focuses on advancing fundamental skills, game strategy, and discipline. Players are expected to bring greater commitment and understanding of the game while refining their skills. Available to ages 9-10

Varsity Division

Final division before entering the Middle School program. Athletes are challenged to demonstrate dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship while preparing to enter into higher levels of competition. Available to ages 11-12

CHEER PROGRAMS

Flag Division

This level is designed as an introduction to sideline and competitive cheer. Participants learn basic cheer techniques, light tumbling, and foundational skills in a fun and supportive environment. Flag Football Cheer is perfect for young athletes just starting their cheer journey. Available to ages 5-6

Freshman Division

Freshman level cheer focuses on introducing the fundamentals of stunting, tumbling, and cheer routines, culminating in a judged competition at the end of the season. Participants also perform sideline cheers during Saturday games, fostering team spirit and building foundational skills in a fun and supportive environment. Available to ages 7-8

Junior Varsity Division

The Junior Varsity Cheer division builds on foundational skills, focusing on advancing stunting and tumbling techniques for competitive cheer. Athletes also continue to enhance their performance and leadership in sideline cheer, fostering growth in teamwork, confidence, and athletic ability in preparation for higher levels of competition. Available to ages 9-10

Varsity Division

The Varsity Cheer division is designed to refine advanced stunting, tumbling, and performance techniques for competitive cheer while continuing to excel in sideline cheer. This level emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and skill mastery to prepare athletes for the demands of middle school competitive and sideline cheer programs. This is the only division that follows MHSAA competitive cheer regulations. Available to ages 10-13
